Holey crap that sucks.
I can't speak to the guy getting off with not even a slap on the had.
But I did read an article a while back about crimes or accidents like crashing in to someone. It talked about result of accidents vs penalties.
Like in some cases like this, if the girl survived the penalty would be less than if she were killed. It talks about the crime could be 100% the same but very different outcomes. Or if it was a kid or an adult that was killed.
I'll see if I can find the article when I get home.
And a bit on these lines. My cam caught a bit of road rage last year. A truck was chasing after a car in town. Blowing through stop signs just as a little kids were getting out of school nearly smacking a group.
I called it in real quick. As I was talking to the operator they got another call from the school it self.
Long story short I ended up turning a copy of the vid to police and filled out a report. I was not given details but one of them side swipped a parked car.
