The last 8 are what matter, however they will matter for each chassis code (if it's like Toyota, which it likely is).
So the BRZ will be sequential from ZC6-1000001, and the 86/FR-S will be sequential from ZN6-1000001. Transmission/grade doesn't typically come into play for the sequential frame number.
