The BRZ must go
I purchased this car in September 2013 from Irvine Subaru. The car had 4 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. The engine was properly broken in for the first 1,000 miles and kept under 3,000 RPM. This car was my baby and was treated well and maintained. It is a Southern California car so has has never been introduced to the elements and is very clean throughout. The maintenance has been dealer performed and up to date. It is still under the 2-year maintenance free warranty in addition to the standard dealer provided warranty through Subaru America. It has never been in an accident, and has not a single dent/ding on any of the panels.
I have never ran this car through a brushed car wash! I washed using Pinnacle waterless wash w/ carnuba or the touchless car wash down the street. Used QD to keep it waxed/UV protected on the exterior and 303 Aerospace UV protectant on the interior parts. Interior/Exterior were well taken care of.
The Good:
- OEM GT86 Armrest
- K&N Drop in Filter (@5k miles)
The Bad:
- FRS/BRZ "Cricket" noise comes and goes. I never took it in for warranty repair since it will most likely be a temporary fix and will come back eventually.
- One wheel has a bit of light curb rash (Pictured)
- Driver Side, lower edge of bumper has a scuff that was filled in, wet sanded and sealed using OEM matched paint (Pictured)
- Above the driver side headlight, a chip the size of a pen point was filled in. (pictured)
- Trunk has two repairable scratches that were compounded down a bit. Only shows at the right angle in the right lighting. I tried taking a picture but does not come out in photos.
Most of these blemishes are only noticeable because I am incredibly meticulous, otherwise they arent noticeable unless you are inches away.
I am located in San Diego, CA. The car is no longer accumulating mileage as I bought a new daily. Currently sits in a car port waiting to be picked up.
