The "Common Sense" New Tire Thread
So, this thread is born out of the unfortunate incident of one of my tires picking up a nail in the shoulder, which usually means death of the tire. Its especially frustrating, as there is still plenty of tread in the tire--about 22k miles on OEM tires--and I will have to replace at least two, if not all four (thats a discussion for another time).
My question is this: I did some searching and could not find a thread that recommends tires that are a compromise between price and performance. I realize that you get what you pay for, and that paying less means getting less tire, but I don't need the tire of a weekend warrior--I need one that performs when I want it to but won't wear out in a month, as I use this car as a daily driver.
So, the purpose of this thread is to give recommendations for a daily driver tire for the twins that is a good mix between durability and performance, without breaking the bank.
I appreciate any advice you guys and gals can give me. I am going to be talking to my tire guy on Monday and would like to have some suggestions to give. Thanks!
