Well those rear seat delete looks like they can open up and store items in it and it doesn't look like it has to carry the top. Aside from that, I rarely use my rear seats. Sorry, I meant that you should be able to carry the top without the rear seat delete (it should fit with the seat folded down), not that you were required to carry the top.
I like having the option of using the rear seats, in fact I wouldn't have bought the 86 if it had been a two seater. That's just me though, I realize that not all folks see the seats as useful, or necessary.
