After a couple of times you can actually get a responsive group. Just make sure you have more than a couple hours of free time.

That's what I keep asking myself as well. I think they should've incorporated a currency exchange system. Like 15 mote of light can be swapped for a strange coin or something. Just add it to the list of things we'd like Bungie to do but probably won't happen.
