What class are you? If you gunning for lvl30 your best best short term is to grab an exotic helmet since the 30 light raid helmets only drop in the hard mode raid.
The engrams he has only ever seem to be chest or helmet, I doubt we'll see weapon engrams from him anytime soon. It's a pretty big risk, only a 33% chance it'll be for your class and then an even smaller chance it'll be the piece you wanted for your class.
