Oh god no don't dump it out, it's not a stupid question, it's essentially a desiccant, so you open the little seal and container and place the container inside the car. The bottom separate containter will fill up with water like a dehumidifier. Just follow the instructions, and put it in the car over night and for a couple days being careful not to leave the doors or windows open for a long time. Trust me it works wonders
