Like vs. like (without flywheels, without engine covers), looks like the Coyote is about in inch shorter in length, 4.4" wider, an inch or so taller (engine cover doesn't look to add more than a couple of inches over the top of the intake plenum).
So the 5.0 is nearly 25% wider than the LS3. But length/width/height doesn't tell the whole story. For sure the Coyote occupies a lot more of its LxWxH box volume than the LS3 does.

Anyone thinking a DOHC V8 is going to be smaller than a pushrod V8 of similar displacement is mental. Length difference is clearly the difference in displacement (smaller bore = shorter length block)
Also keep ion mind in the pictures the LS3 is only the long block without exhaust or accessories, so it's going to appear to not take up as much room in the "box" as the coyote.
Also, 3800lbs is light in todays standards. Keep in mind a MKIII Supra is over 3800lbs (MKIV trimmed weight, but not a ton).
