You're missing the point. It's about being safe and prudent and that includes making sure there aren't any state police near by. Not that they are ever out at that time of the night on that section of the highway. Even if they were, the three mile stretch I'm talking about have no area for a cop to pull over and hide. It's a divided highway with 5ft dirt berms on either side. The only person who could be injured or killed is me. And it's worth it, what's the point of owning a sports car if you don't open it up every now and then.

This thread was about how fast have you gone, not how fast on a track day.

What this thread isn't about, is a bunch of pansies telling us all what we already know. We are well aware of the posted speed limits and the judicial risks we take with driving with excessive speed. We know we will not pass go and not collect $200. We will be arrested and our cars will be impounded. It's worth the risk. Again, safe and prudent boys and girls.

And remember, speed limits aren't about safety. They were put into place when cars where much more dangerous to drive then today's machines. But the limits have not increased with increased performance. Speed limits are about one thing. Revenue generation.
