Not my thread, but you would not use a clay bar to remove swirls or scratches. Clay bar removes contaminants from the clear coat/paint. Removing swirls, scratches and surface imperfections requires some type of "light" abrasive like a swirl/scratch remover. It can be done by hand. I use a Porter Cable random orbit buffer to spare my aging arms.
