its mainly the amount of ignition retard applied that increases the noise levels. reduce that from -15 to -4 or even 0 and the noise is gone.
So I've tried this route, only changing the the ignition retard to -4.18 and it no longer idles rough, however it's still stupid loud and on a chilly-but-not-so-cold day it initially idles at ~2100 rpm before dropping down. Not rough but still loud.

I've checked my Idle Speed Target A and B tables and they have a max value of only 1400, so I'm not sure why it idles so high. Have you got any advice for me that might prevent my neighbors from burning my house down?
