Thanks all for the quick replies. I understand since my questions are basically irrelevant to you guys with FRS so it means a lot. If we can get any usable data out of this I'll share it here for sure.

I felt it relevant to mention it's not in an frs because of these reasons. I'm not bound by a sanctioning body so the plan is to put it high in the chassis to get everything level.

Upon inspection the outer spline ends look pretty small next to other toyota 8" axles. The CVs are tiny as well. This concerns me.

I've looked into the DSS axles but can't justify the costs. At this point I'm looking at adapting a stronger oem axle and hub or possibly making new uprights for it. This will probably be more economical especially if it's made from oem parts.

For gearbox we're using a J160. If at all possible I'd like the rear end to be stronger than the transmission.

Anyhow, assuming all the geometry is stock do these puny little axles even stand a chance? Opinions based on experience are much appreciated.
