yes you have to extend the wires. i'm warning you all, the wires are EXTREMELY THIN.

this means that you should think about where you cut it to extend it, if you strip too much then you'll be screwed, i came very close to this.

also, to mount the button itself you NEED the little area its mounted into, you just need to cut it out and glue it to where you want it and then mold it, if you look through old photos, you'll see what i mean by this.

as far as the doors, its just something i did for myself, its still not perfect but it works fine. you have to pull the strap towards the front of the car, no towards the inside of the car, its hard to explain but once you use it you'll see what i mean.

i've actually contacted renspeed, who makes the OEM kit for VW's but they said they would not like to do this...so basically mine are and will be one off.

i am debating making something but i just don't have the time. the information in this thread is enough for someone to do this at home, i think i documented it pretty well, those go-kart cables are how mine is connected, there probably is a better way but it would take a bit more engineering, and there isn't that much room to work with here.

my pm box is always open to questions, i'd be happy to help.

i actually have a rattle in my driver door...if i take it apart to add more dynamat, i'll snap some photos for sure.
