Exposure to UV fades paint over time. UV protection in modern paint jobs makes it less of a problem than it used to be, but once upon a time you would have a car for ten years, then an emblem would fall off, and the paint underneath it would be darker than the paint that had been exposed to the sun.
A single year of sun on modern paint
shouldn't make any difference, though. But then again, considering how shitty the paint is on these cars...
