Too early to call it a year for mods...
Installed a Perrin rear shifter bushing and Whiteline transmission bushing insert today.
The install would have been sooo much faster with a lift. Rolled the front up on ramps and lifted the rear on jack stands. The car sat so low that I couldn't even get under with a creeper (and explains the lack of photos). Had to shimmy under and use little T-Rex arms to remove a few bolts and a bunch of last years long lasting underspray. I can appreciate what you '3-season' drivers get to work on.
End result for the Perrin rear shifter bushing is a slightly better feeling to the shifter. I think the review might have been ruined by trying @
UMB FR-S's Kartboy short shift on Friday.
Ignore the detailed tear down for the Whiteline install - it required removing only one fastener. The Whiteline transmission bushing insert makes a very noticeable difference on hard starts, and quick shifts. Any trace of wheel hop is gone and shifts feel more direct and connected to the wheels. I can chirp easily between shifts even with 245 tires, NA and stock exhaust. There is some welcome low frequency NVH at lower speeds but nothing noticeable once you get going. Some noise/rattle that existed when easing on the clutch while reversing or when switching from 1st to reverse is gone.
