Gotta love Penndot

I applied and received a vanity plate and registration card in January 2014. I had problems with renewing my registration (Penndot never sent my card) which expires this month so I went to the tag agency to renew there.

The agency tells me that my car has no current registration (not even my old license plate registration) and that my vanity plate number was given to someone in July, which was six months after I received mine. They tell me this as they are holding my registration card in their hand. lol

The agent goes on to tell me that once any plate number is replaced or no longer needed (from selling a car), it is retired for 5 years and the plate number cannot be given to someone else until then.

So it looks like someone at Penndot deliberately removed my registration so they could give my plate number to someone else, probably someone they know.

Not only that, they took the money for my recent renewal registration even though according to them, my car isn't even registered.

They also didn't believe me when I told them my story and asked for evidence that I actually was in possession of the plate and registration, which I have provided. Still waiting to hear back from them.

Best of all, my BRZ hasn't been legal to drive for the last 8 months and I can't legally drive it until this whole fiasco is over. I could get a temporary plate but I was told it would cost me $109, even though they are the ones at fault. When I told Penndot of the cost their reply was, "well can't you just pay it?"

lol
