Unfortunately you are missing one more thing,

, lens distortion. Lots of car pictures skew the front and rear bumpers because they are near the edges, and are fractionally off. This is why I only use wheel size to start with, and length just to double check.
Front wheel comment: yeah, that. And when I visualize sitting in the driver's seat, I kind of get the idea of weight distribution around me. Driver position in the diagram would be cool too, like road and track does I think.
