The mount is cradleless, so that means it uses a very strong magnet that grabs a metal plate you're supposed to stick to your phone. Because I didn't want to stick the plate to the outside of my phone I bought a super slim case and stuck the metal plate inside of it so you can't see the plate from the outside of the phone. Incipio Feather for Lumia 1520. Really though you could use any case. I chose the feather because it was a little more durable and I got a good deal on it at the time.
