Additionally, I don't know where people are pulling these figures out from. A 200lbs weight loss is MASSIVE. My Mustang weighs 3600lbs. It doesn't even have a spare tire or jack. To lose that much weight and still have the features it currently has and comply with federal safety regulations, the car would have to shrink to the size of a BRZ. That may be what all of you clearly like, but that is not what the Mustang, as a brand, is about. It's not a small 2+2 sports car. It is a mid-size GT car that plays sports car when Ford decides to throw an extra $XXmillion into suspension development for a special edition (Boss 302, 00R/Termi). My Mustang was an alternate to G37 and 335i coupes, not a used C6, 370z or BRZ. It is the ultimate compromise. It has to be fast enough to overcome the budget interior at 45k yet cheap enough to not lose money at 25k.
