A lot of Porsche customers that plan to track their new car actually get the analog damper option. PASM is for luxury, ride, street comfort. I think it's the same case with other sportcars that offer some sort of PASM...the track heads will almost always downgrade (or upgrade in their eyes) to the analog shocks.
Not sure about the PASM system, but systems like that can be WAY better handling than "analog" shocks. The Porsche system might be tuned for comfort, but if set up right it'll blow a traditional system out of the water.
