Best thing to do when taking off on a hill is to use the ebrake to hold the car until the clutch starts to grab. It is also useful when you want a very responsive take off. Hold the ebrake, slightly engage the clutch so the car moves just a bit, fully disengage the clutch, off the ebrake, take off when ready.
