Don't worry about popularity. The FR-S is not going to sell like other cars where you'll see one all the time, although it won't necessarily be a rare car either. Get the color
you want. On the BRZ side, the most popular color by far is World Rally Blue, but that's the color I want and therefore the color I'm getting. One driving factor for me is the fact that it's the color that defines Subaru. Hot Lava may be a Scion exclusive but it doesn't define the brand in the same way that World Rally Blue defines Subaru. I agree that you should try to see the different colors in person before making a firm decision. Go to a Subaru dealer and look at the colors on Subaru models. You'll be able to see every one of them except Hot Lava, of course. I saw WRB on a WRX STI and that's how I knew with certainty that it was the color for me.
