I have the base unit and my old car had Nav too. When I need it I really miss it. I have been thinking of buying a GPS and mounting it where I usually mount my Tuning Tablet (OFT) using a suction cup mount and magnet attached to the device. I attach it to the little triangle window on the drivers side.

Just an idea and since I can't upgrade my head unit it would be a cheap alternative.
