Two days ago I did a track day at Oregon Raceway Park, a new venue for me. During the first stint I was having difficulty learning the circuit since about half of the turns are blind and over hillcrests.
I saw a Cayman closing slowly so gave a point-by, hoping to learn his line. When he passed, it turned out to be a Cayman R, so figured it would be a short lesson. Surprisingly, I was able to stay within 1-2 sec. for a couple of laps of the 16 turn 2.3 mile before the checkered flag fell.
In fairness, the straights there are short so he couldn't really open it up but overall I was pleased that FR-S was able to stay within sight of a Cayman R on a technical track.
