Devil's advocate here. While I'm not buying a BRZ/FR-S because of the backseat I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't have one. I don't plan on taking long road trips with the family or anything in it but I have 2 kids and a 2-seater just isn't practical when you need to get your kids from Point A to Point B, even if it's just once in a blue moon.

Absolutely agree. We are on the tail end of kids at home, but when you need it you need it and the car would be impractical for me without it.
