I'm skeptical on two engine choices, they currently don't offer a turbo Sky-Activ G, I'll be surprised if the first application is on a niche budget sports car (lookin at you Toyobaru), they don't really have the weight (financially) to gamble on it...
I'd put money on the Sky-Activ D before a turbo Sky-Activ G engine the more I think on it, would also explain the delay from rumors that it would unveil earlier this year (or the year before that or the year before that)...
Define 'better'
Practical? Hell no
Gadgets and amenities? I expect a fully loaded model on par with a BRZ but not better at a similar or higher price point
Performance? I'll be surpised if it's noticeably faster than a Toyobaru, maybe a tick ahead at best
Fun to drive? Subjective, but that's the name of Mazda's game, zoom-zoom
