Thomas Knight was one of the few early ESC developers (along with Rob) that understood more than 12volts were going to be needed. The article is from back in 2004 and reflected work he had done at the time. I don't know much of the history here. It looks like Thomas Knight ceased development for some reason. Rob continued his own R&D over the years and finally produced the commercial product we enjoy today.
