I didn't search your entire thread but I didn't see any mention of your tires. If you are running 17x8 wheels, I am guessing that you are not still running the stock tires. If not, what do your new tires weigh?
I ask because I have been looking for lightweight tires close to the OEM size. Two of the lightest tire models that I have come up with are the Kumho Ecsta LE Sport in 205/45R17 and the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2.
What did you end up buying?
