Rotary engines are great...in a world where weight savings is important and fuel savings is not.

Right now they are only 50% great.

And, a lot less people will work on them, especially if you need a rebuild.

In the end, there is a reason Mazda dropped being all rotary during the energy crisis in the 70's and a reason they dropped it now too.

Personally, I really don't like Mazda. Except I could live with the Miata, except for the girly styling.
