Funny that 1st gear in this trans is the only one that has a part named "1st Shift Restrict Ball"
If that isnt some kind of "lockout" then I dont know what it is for.
At least I can verify that this trans
does have a synchro for 1st so the engineers must have thought someone would need that.
I cant imagine any actual need for downshifting to first except "cuz racecar".
So others say: "Dont downshift into 1st unless you are at a complete stop."
And you pretty much chime in with "Just go for it!".
