checking that my oil is full increases my oil change interval?
Go 10k miles and tell me what Subaru/Toyota say when you ask for warranty engine work.
Considering they dropped it down to 6k for normal driving..changing it under extreme conditions 1k miles early doesn't seem that crazy.
