Hmm, but it's interesting that at that same moment the narrator happened to be talking about Subaru's AWD platforms and how in the future they will benefit from what FHI learned while developing the BRZ. Foreshadowing? I think the next WRX will be based on the BRZ platform. Sure the BRZ might not have enough room for an AWD transmission, but after watching this video I've learned a bunch of new car design tricks that I would never have considered before. FHI went against the mainstream. They thought outside the box for so many of the BRZ's subsystems that I believe they could do the same for an AWD transmission.

Anyway, this video puts me solidly in the Subaru camp, whereas before I was a firm believer in the pure/bare-bones nature of the FR-S. I still appreciate purity, but now I have so much more respect for the folks at FHI that made this project happen. Lots of pride in the Subaru nameplate.
