No more than a modern Toyota Camry SE or Acura MDX would be considered a muscle car.
Similar 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile times (or better) but the category goes beyond that.
I get what you're saying though - these cars would definitely be considered fast back in those days, but so would contemporary sport sedans and SUV's.
