For what it's worth I read everything I need from the phone. I use DashCommand and an ELM327 wifi adapter for the obdii port. I'm working on a way to connect the phone to the display radio. If you don't have or don't want to use the radio, you can just use a good phone mount for the phone and pick a couple gauges you really want to see. Oil temp and AFR for me.
