If you are buying "springs" and using the stock strut, you have fewer choices than if you buy a complete package (combo) because the end result can be more room for an over sized or inset tire.

That's how I mean it. Springs can be used with the OEM strut. You can replace the strut as well, but they're purchased as separate items from the springs. Coilovers are integrated units right out of the box.
