Don't worry you won't hurt a thing going even to a 20w50 which I've resorted to along with internal engine mods and more.

The dual AVCS isn't the direct cause it's due to the design of the oiling system in that it's not a "main priority" engine. Search out my thread in "Engine" if you want to know exactly how the oiling system is designed and why it's a problem. In a nutshell your main bearings do not get oil pressure priority, everything shares the same priority (mostly).
