My BRZ lights don't compare to the Xenons on my previous car (BMW 135i).
I find Japanese HIDs have always had very sharp cutoff, compare to German HIDs. The HIDs on your previous Bimmer probably had headlight washers and automatic leveling as well where an arm is attached to the front suspension (requirement to comply with EU regulations).

Actually TRD lets you make the output even worse by selling 6000K HID bulbs. (stock 4300K has the best output and closest to sunlight color temp).
