I don't care what your opinions are about domestic violence being under-recognized when the woman is the perpetrator. You're probably right. But first rule of crime with a victim is that it is extremely classless to use that event as a cue to bring up the opposite side of the story. Steven A. got his ass handed to him for awhile at ESPN for even suggesting that a woman learn self-defense and do their best not to provoke after the Ray Rice situation. Timing and context are key. He would have never gotten busted for waiting a few months and starting a charity to help fund self defense and anger management classes for women.
If you want to go start an awareness foundation, or a separate thread, or share experiences close to you in another venue, I think that is great. But let's show a little respect to a victim of a terrible crime when discussing a specific incident like Christy Mack's situation.
