Think same as a 2JZ with shorter rods so it revs better, but doesn't spool big turbos as well or put down low torque. Weak point stock is the rod bolts, same as the 2JZ. 500 whp without worrying about anything. Couple local guys are running 600 whp without problems (keeping in mind that a 1JZ will be either running more rpm or more boost for the same power as a 2JZ putting the same power down).
