I get cut off by idiots everywhere, but most of them are driving min vans or SUV's and just bad drivers. There are moronic drivers in everything on wheels, not just the stereotypes you're talking about in VW's.
Hell, I got cut off the other day by a red FRS with dealer plates doing at least 160 on the 401 after work.

Even chipped, a 1.8T is still slightly slower than a bone stock FRS. Chipped ones with good drivers would be lucky to pull off a 14.8ish 1/4 mile.
The MKV+ 2.0T's are a different story, but by the sound of it you're talking about MKIV's.
