I am a subaru technician with a cusco catch can installed on my brz. I have followed this routing issue since this catch can and brz was availiable and cusco providing the wrong install instructions. I originally installed it myself following cusco instructions and was looking at it the install within the next week and determined it was useless in that configuration. The picture in the first post is the correct routing. I had it configured as posted here for 36000kms on my 13 brz and it is FUNCTIONAL. The FA20 doesnt use any oil to begin with, when the piston rings are broken in correctly, especially through crankcase vapor. In total it only filled up approx. 1 inch up the sight tube after 36k but that car never used even 50ml of oil between my 8k oil change interval, that including autocross and spirited driving weekly. I traded that car and now have the can installed on my 15 aozora. I would not remove the pcv valve though. Crankcase pressure helps control engine oil foaming and applying intake manifold vacuum through the catch can and to the engine block will only encourage vapors been drawn out of the engine. Since the cusco provided hose has a large id. I used a 1' piece of 3/8 fuel line , inserted it in the cusco hose, then slid onto the pcv valve and clamped. This setup has worked perfect for myself.
