But buying a new car you're not willing to the drive in the winter without already owning a winter-ready car or having the means to buy one and own both seems... well like bad financial planning. Didn't the OP state that a job opportunity came open unexpectedly that entailed a great deal more winter driving than he could possibly have anticipated when he bought the car?
