So mate, when you change meter the new comes unpaired.
If the job is DIY:
a) unplug battery!
MANDATORY
b) remove meter cover (1 nut) and the two upon meter, remove meter unit.
c) connect the harness on back
d) repeat on reverse step.
- Now press START button once without start engine with keyless fob near antenna 's receiver (beside front USB plug).
- press Start again to go OFF.
- NOW START ENGINE, you will see unlock signal on meter becomes green.
This means that unit has been paired.
About mileage, you loose your records (tS meter starts up at 0 Kms) so the only way is to align it with SSMIII by official Subaru network. Otherwise..you gain the mileage you done. You need to set up limiter signal (i.g. my at 7.400 rpm) on meter and all warning personalization you made (i.g. seat belts warning) with TIS.
Mileage is recorded both on ECM and Meter too.
