Hmmm... I know there have been a couple of people I've seen on here with Aluminum exhausts, and they seemed to be alright.
Depending on the alloy, it should hold most of its strength out to about 500-600 Fahrenheit. After that it will lose most of its integrity. The weak point in my mind is the hangers.
I think it is an interesting option, but probably not appropriate for a DD.
