Say what you will but to me a high revving, turboed, 2.0L, with torque fill during spool up and gobs and gobs of torque sounds awesome to me. Add to that an ability to go 30-40 miles on electric power only (i.e. a commute to and from work) and they are on the verge of creating the perfect car for $5-6/gallon gas.

I'll jump on board as soon as a manufacturer comes up with a dummy H pattern shifter connected to their Dual Clutch Tranny that makes me feel like I'm still shifting my own gears. Yes, it'd be a placebo effect but I'd prefer it over the paddles.
Honestly I don't know why this hasn't happened yet. Nissan already has the technology in their syncro-rev matching manual to be able to sense the position of the shifter and predict your next gear to rev match. How come they can't pair that to a DCT to mimic a traditional 6 speed H pattern minus the clutch pedal?
(I should patent that idea lol)
