Modding was the whole point of buying this car for me in the first place. I have been an instructor with the BMWCCA for years, and this car is a great starting point as shipped from the factory IMO. All the things I wanted — low price, rear wheel drive, limited slip differential, able to shut off traction control completely, simple and easy to maintain design, hard top, rear seat with some cargo space behind, and few of the thing I didn't — electronic do-dads and "assistants" of all sorts, complicated, crowded & inaccessible engine bay, two-ton weight, large body & wheels. Many of the attributes I find missing in modern Bimmers (and most every car as well).

I fixed the handling flaws (my perspective) and brakes with a few simple and inexpensive mods. Now the car is ideal for my use and ready for more when I have the cash. It is still my daily driver that can moonlight at the track on a weekend.
Any input is welcome from any region
