Apologies to any dealership service techs on the forums who actually respect and have an admiration for these cars.
Its the few bad apples argument.

I personally used to work for a Mercedes dealer in Florida in high school that had 22 bays, I can tell you those guys cared from the 25 year olds to the 50 year old senior guys.

My father in law is also a master tech and does BMW and Porsche privately but used to work at a BMW dealer, I can tell you he and the friends of his I've met care deeply about cars in general and are even more careful with customer cars than their own.

With my own cars and I've owned a # of new ones, I've never had a tech do anything stupid or break anything myself. I do know there are obviously bad techs out there but its really unfair to say that you won't get good service at a dealership.
