Windex is soap water and ammonia D. The ammonia D is different than regular ammonia. Ammonia D is a dessicant, but it is insufficient to remove the soap residue.
The interior of the tail housing will be a mess, as you will be adding a stain to the plastic, soap and water will remain, as well as the condensation.
