I am sure you can short/jump it, I just found it strange that it worked for OmarYasin but It worked the opposite for me.
I think most of the sensor inputs are normally closed on this car, and the buttons open them. I unplugged my drivers seat belt sensor planning to jump it so it wouldn't ding at me every time I start the car (to let the idle settle) before I fasten my seat belt, and just by unplugging it, it thinks the seat belt is always fastened. Got the same thing on the trunk switch, unplugged it, and it thought it was always pushed, and the same thing on my door switch, unhooked it to cancel the window indexing, and now it thinks the door is always closed, instead of always open.
but back on topic, a small piece of sheet metal, or even cardboard folded into a shallow open top box should slide over the button and fit flush with the panel to keep the button from being pressed by accident.. I've had it happen a few times to me too.
